(Featured resource)This video was created by one of HeadStart Wolverhampton’s Ambassadors, young people aged 16-25 who support their younger peers.

The video is narrated by Katie and reenacted by terrible stick men! Whilst out with her friends a man approached her, and this relationship grew, eventually becoming abusive.

How Do I Know If I’m Being Groomed?

This video aims to help young people identify the signs of grooming. Grooming can happen to anyone. It affects both boys and girls and can happen at a time, especially when the young person is particularly vulnerable. Groomers can be any age, young or old, men or women. They may start the relationship by earning the young person’s trust, showering them with gifts and compliments to make them feel special. The relationship may then become more controlling, with the young person becoming isolated from friends and family and then being manipulated to perform sexual acts that they do not feel comfortable with, either in person or online.

Online Gaming Dangers

A gaming enthusiast from Southampton is encouraging youngsters to beware of sexual predators when playing online. Matt has seen the dangers of online grooming after his friend was tricked into sending nude pictures of herself to another gamer pretending they were the same age. Now Matt has teamed up with Fixers to create a powerful film which he hopes will inform others his age of the dangers so they can take better precautions.
