What Does It Mean To Be Transgender?

This video provided by ChildLine features Lewis Hancox and Fox Fisher talking about what it means to be trans for them, small steps to transitioning for young people and, how to tell parents or carers that you think you’re trans or questioning your gender.

If you need advice or information on trans issues then the short videos, such as this one, presented in ChildLine’s video series are a great place to start.

The information included in this video is digestible and easy enough to understand for even some of the young people in our target age bracket. The information provided is definitely geared towards young people with more emphasis placed on non-medical periods of transitioning such as the way young people dress, or the names they use. This video can be watched by parents in order to help them understand what it means to be trans and how to help them through periods of transitioning, such as accepting their pronouns and other things alike.
