Sexuality and sexual orientation is about who you are physically and emotionally attracted to. Everyone has a sexual orientation – lesbian, straight, bisexual, gay or one of many other types and this might change over time. This webpage covers coming out, LGB pride, homophobia and prejudice, and twelve types of sexual orientation.
You should be proud of who you are, whatever your sexuality. If you feel like you can’t be comfortable in your sexual orientation, try talking to a trained counsellor through the Childline freephone number or their one to one online chat service.
I am really impressed by this webpage as it covers twelve types of sexuality and not just the three that are normally covered by websites of this nature. This is really good for young people who may not feel like they fit into the stereotypical gay, straight, lesbian or bi categories. The information provided is supportive and non-judgemental and does not pressure young people to come out before they are ready. It also explains that they are using LGB on this page as the T in LGBT stands for transgender and this is a gender identity rather than a sexual orientation.
