My Friend is Transgender

Gender identity is a person’s internal sense of being masculine, feminine or somewhere along the gender spectrum. Watch this video to learn more about gender identity and how to be an ally to transgender people.

It’s not important whether or not you understand your friends identity, it’s just important that you support your friend to be who they want to be. This video is a great look at how to support a friend who might be questioning their gender identity.

This video is a great exploration into being friends with someone who has recently come out as transgender. It shows how having a closed mind can really impact the life of a young person who identifies with another gender. I think it’s important for young people to learn these lessons about how to be a good friend to young people who are transgender.
