Catch It App


Catch It is a joint project between the Universities of Liverpool and Manchester, to illustrate some of the key principles of psychological approaches to mental health and wellbeing, and specifically Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Catch It contains a step by step mood tracker to help people track their moods. It includes space to include what mood you’ve experienced, how strong the mood was, when you experienced the mood and where you were at the time. It then gives you time to reflect on what you’ve recorded and then adds the entry to the diary. This means that you can check moods, identify triggers and notice patterns within your moods.


This app is a great way to keep track of your moods and reflect on them. It allows you to identify patterns which can be useful when talking to professionals but it can also help you tackle your anxiety or your depression after you notice the pattern of your behaviours. The app uses CBT to help improve people’s moods. With the ever growing use of smartphones among young people I think this is a beneficial resource. It is available for both the Android and Apple iOS platforms.
