Being Me: Carers Trust

This short downloadable leaflet talks about the experience of young carers within school. It gives two short case studies from a young boy and girl and how they have to act as carers within their family while balancing their roles as carers. The downloadable resource is completed with advice for teachers on how to support young carers within the classroom.

This short leaflet aims to get teachers and voluntary sector members thinking about how they can best support young people who are also carers. This booklet is not intended to be the beginning and end of your education, but instead aims to kickstart your own journey of education.

This is part two of a five part downloadable booklet series. This serial focusses on the carers trust and how teachers can support young carers within the classroom. It is a great way to open up teachers thinking about how to support young people. I think it is quite confusing at points because it is not broken up into easy sections. However, it is a great landing pad for teachers who may not know much about young carers and the struggles they face within education.
