Be in your Mate’s Corner: Just Reach Out
1 in 10 young people will experience a mental health problem this year. If your mate is acting differently, just reach out. Send them a snap, hit them up on whatsapp, or just call them and let them know you are here to help if they need someone to listen.
This short video just confirms this message, just let people know that you are there and that you care. Starting the conversation about mental health doesn’t have to be hard, it can be as simple as ‘hey mate, I’m here if you want to talk’
This video is short and to the point. The inclusion of the snapchat filter is definitely beneficial as it shows young people that it doesn’t have to be hard to start a conversation about mental health. It’s a great resource for young people who might be concerned about a friend. The fact that it’s two males in the video is really important too as men are often overlooked when it concerns young people’s mental health.
