The ’13 Reasons Why’ Toolkit
‘13 Reasons Why‘, is a hit Netflix show that focusses on the fictional suicide of a teenage girl in an American High School, and the causes and circumstances that surrounded that, including bullying and sexual violence. For Series Two of the show, Netflix commissioned a toolkit of resources and advice for parents, educators and young people. The toolkit it designed to be used to encourage conversations, identify those at risk and prevent unexpected tragedies, and offers advice about the themes of the show, and on talking about the issues with teenagers and young people.
A useful resource. It’s quite dense in the formatting of the text, so may not be accessible to younger teens. If you’re a young person struggling with some of the serious issues in the show, please seek help from a trusted adult.
